It’s been a really hot and humid summer here so I thought my first recipe back with Eat Like a Sim should be something cold that can be enjoyed on a hot day. The Ice Cream Maker introduced with the Cool Kitchen Stuff pack offered up several options! I was intrigued by the flavor called “Fruits of the Forest” and I envisioned a mixed berry ice cream (since berries are commonly found in forests). The Sims made version shows what looks like vanilla ice cream with swirls of pink and purple. I couldn’t QUITE replicate the exact look, but I think it tastes great! Continue reading →

New Twitter Account & Other News!
Hello everyone! I hope you’re having a great weekend so far!
I just wanted to let you all know that there is a new Twitter account for the Sims Legacy Challenge website! I had been using my personal Twitter account to Tweet out news related to this website, but for privacy reasons, I have decided to finally make an official Twitter account for the website.
If you have Twitter and wish to keep up to date with all news pertaining to the Sims Legacy Challenge website then follow @Sims_Legacy!
In other news, we are hoping to release our newest Sims 4 Challenge tomorrow! So keep an eye out for that!
Finally, I have decided to bring back Eat Like a Sim recipes (real life recipes based on food found in the Sims games)! I am in the process of transferring the previously written recipes back onto this site from my old video game food blog. Once that is done, expect to see new recipes here!
Eat Like a Sim’s Month of Cookies – Sims 2 Santa Cookies (with an Announcement!)
If you’ve played The Sims series for as long as I have, then you probably remember the Sims 2 Santa Cookies recipe. This recipe was available through the Sims 2 Holiday Stuff Pack, and if you were lucky enough to receive the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection for free from Origin, then you already have this recipe available. If your Sims made these cookies and then went to bed, Santa would appear to bring them gifts (and also pee in their toilet several times).
It was always fun to decorate my Sims 2 Legacy family’s house for Christmas, bake the Santa Cookies, and then eagerly await the arrival of Santa in the middle of the night. Sure there was a chance the Christmas tree would catch on fire, but hey, the anticipation was worth it!
Eat Like a Sim’s Month of Cookies – Gingerbread Plumbobs
This week’s recipe is not actually a recipe from the game, but rather something that I came up with to put a festive spin on the most recognizable icons of the Sims… the plumbob! Since the holidays are gingerbread season, I thought gingerbread plumbobs might be a fun little cookie to make.
The plumbob has been around since The Sims 1 and is used as a device to identify the mood and needs of your Sim. Each game has changed the mechanics of how the plumbob works (The Sims 4 changed it to reflect the emotional state that your Sims are in for instance) but has never changed what its shape. It has always maintained its elongated diamond shape which easily identifies it, even outside of the game.
Eat Like a Sim’s Month of Cookies – Black and White Cookies
This week’s recipe is the The Sims 4 Black and White Cookie recipe. Sims can make this recipe at cooking skill level four. I’ll be honest and say that I don’t typically have my Sims bake cookies as they tend to gain weight too quickly as it is, but I saw this recipe on the recipe list and thought it might be fun to make in real-life. Hopefully they don’t go to my hips as quickly as the in-game version does! Continue reading →
Eat Like a Sim – Super Chocolate Tummers Bomb Cupcakes
Today’s recipe is for Sims 4 Super Chocolate Tummers Bomb Cupcakes. These tasty little cupcakes can be made from the Cupcake Machine in The Sims 4 at level 7 cooking. The cupcake machine is a nice little addition to The Sims 4 and allows you to make all sorts of tasty treats for your Sims (and as of the Get to Work Expansion, you can make more than just cupcakes in it!)
Holy plumbob you guys. I figured with a name like “Super Chocolate Tummers Bomb” that I needed to go way overboard on the chocolate with this recipe. And that is just what I did. Chocolate cupcakes filled with chocolate chips, nutella buttercream frosting, and MORE chocolate chips on top. These things are DELICIOUS. My good friend Val (aka 8bitmom) visited when I made these, so she and her son helped taste test this recipe. It was a hit all around.
Eat Like a Sim – Month of Cookies – Coming Soon!
That’s right everyone! My popular, Eat Like a Sim recipe posts will be focusing on cookies for the entire month of December!
I will be posting a new Sim cookie recipe every week for you to make in real life! I have already compiled a list of what I’d like to make, and should have at least one new cookie recipe for you to make every week. Each cookie recipe is based on a recipe found in the Sims games (from Sims 1 to Sims 4). So get those baking hats on, you’ll be needing them soon!
Eat Like a Sim – Taco Casserole Recipe (Sims 4)
Today’s recipe is for Sims 4 Taco Casserole, which is found in the Sims 4 at level 3 cooking skill (and costs 43 simoleons to make). This particular in-game recipe is a staple in my Sims 4 Legacy Challenge family as it feeds a lot of people and seems to fill them up quite nicely.
I thought the in-game item looked pretty tasty, so I decided to take a shot at making a real-life version! The best part about this particular recipe is that it is very customizable. You can add in lots of different optional add-ins depending on your own personal preferences. Continue reading →
Eat Like a Sim – Sims 4 Signature Cake
When Pinstar celebrated his 32nd birthday I decided to make him a special birthday cake for the occasion!
The Sims game franchise has always been an integral part of our lives. He and I met through The Sims 2 back in 2005, so I thought that making him a Sims related birthday cake would be pretty fitting. Especially for the very first recipe that I post here. Seeing as the Sims 4 recently released, I thought it might be a good idea to find a cake recipe from the game that I could use. I was intrigued by the Sims 4 Signature Cake recipe. Continue reading →
