Hi everyone! I hope you all are having a wonderful week. During last week’s house build tour I asked about build challenges that you all recommend and several of you suggested the Solid Color Build Challenge. I decided to give that one a try and I had my community on Discord and Twitter vote on what color I should use. The winner was purple! So here is a tour of my very, VERY purple house. I’ll have a link to the gallery at the bottom of the post along with the necessary packs for it.
In a nutshell, the Solid Color Build Challenge is a building challenge in The Sims 4 where you build a house using only ONE COLOR. All items must have the majority of their color be whatever color is chosen. Plants don’t count (though I had them count just for the heck of it).
Before I show you all a tour of the interior, I just want to warn you that this house is VIBRANT. There is a lot of purple. Be prepared to be OVERWHELMED by purple. Ok… you have been warned. Onto the tour!
Upon entering the house you will be greeted by this VERY purple living room. I managed to find a purple fireplace so I added that to the room. There isn’t a TV though as the only one that counts is the penguin TV and it didn’t really fit in… whatever the heck the style of this room is. Eggplant chic?
On the other side of the living room is the kitchen/dining area. I also included a bar because I have a feeling that whatever Sim lives in this house is going to need a few drinks to deal with all of this purple. Not to mention there are a few necessities that are missing because they don’t come in purple (oven, toilet, shower, and sinks). So I figure the drinks will help get the Sims through the fact that they can’t pee, they are dirty, and can only eat cold food.
I also included this reading nook between the master bedroom and the bathroom. Despite the very vibrant, in-your-face purple, it actually looks quite cozy!
I decided to make the master bedroom a bit more muted in color and used dimmer lights so that the Sims that live here have some place to escape to avoid the bright colors.
Here is the “bathroom”. I use quotation marks because there are no purple showers, bathtubs, or toilets (unless you count the toddler potty that I included so this room doesn’t look quite so un-bathroom like). Instead this is more of a makeup room. I decided to include a vanity because if these Sims are going to smell, at least they’ll look good while they stink! Also as a sidenote, I know the floor doesn’t LOOK super purple, but it does show up when you color search specifically for purple floors so I included it. I think it’s a purple tinted slate or something.
And finally we have a child’s room. I figured since I have a toddler potty, that I may as well include a toddler room. Lots of purple stuff to be found in the children’s section too!
