Okay, this is outrageously well put-together and comprehensive. I love it. So many little boxes and goals to complete and check off 🙂 🙂 🙂 Thanks again, guys.
The delay of the release of the Prima Guide has left a few of the categories in beta form, but that will be updated when I get the guide. Once I have more testing, I’ll provide all the ‘chart’ point totals for the categories that mention them, but at the very least you know what goals you are shooting for, just not how many points you get for what milestones.
Well, this Legacy challenge is similar to the one you made for The Sims 2 but a lot less complex. The rules you made for the Sims 3 Legacy were meh but this really brings the whole Aspiration thing into light. It might convince me to blurge for the Sims 4 after all even though I prefer to wait until they give an expansion. Did you know Carl has put a link to these rules in their Sims 4 forum? People are already creating Legacy stories there! ^_^
I agree with your assessment that my TS3 version of the Legacy Challenge were my weakest effort of the three. I’m glad other forums are getting into the Legacy Craze!
ok you probably already know the deaths by now but im trying to do the achievement where u have to kill 10 sims and ive found and researched plus i have the collectors guide which i could be wrong didnt have them… js so i dont think the prima guide would either… but there is a total of 10 deaths thus far. (old school deaths) 1. fire 2. electrocution 3. starvation (emotion deaths) 1. enraged 2.mortified 3. hysterical – an thats just my name for them the enraged one is like cardiac arrest or somthing… (other ways to die) 1. over exhaustion of an elder – only works with elders srry 2. rocket crash – pretty much same as fire – to do this you need the mischief skill idk what level yet but u put a fruit in the rocket pipe and it makes it crash… 3. cowplant being eaten – when the cow plant is hungery itll lure sims to it with cake but be careful bc to much neglect will kill it easly and there not easy to come buy really since grafting it with gardening still wont produce what u need for it, all u can do is hope to get one by space traveling or fishing in certain spot in the dessert/tropical town…. i hope this will help some unless u already figured it out lol 🙂
Wow! Now I’m super excited, starting up my legacy file right nao. 😛 I really like the changes to the rules to reflect the new game, makes it very interesting. Definitely going to have to make up a spreadsheet to keep track of points though, lol.
I can tell you that there are only 3 death types (according to my Prima guide, which Gamestop released to me apparently not knowing that it was supposed to be delayed). Death by aging, death by electrocution and death by fire.
I can attest to that! My founder was courting a prospective spouse and everything seemed to be going well. He was “mortified” when she rejected his marriage proposal. I mean literally mortified, because he keeled over and the Reaper took him. His heartless girlfriend was left weeping…end of legacy attempt #1. Such drama!
Last night, my sim actually died from laughing just like it showed in that one video. she was a neat childish family oriented sim with the big happy family aspiration. I was going to have her adopt a bunch of kids. She was laughing and joking around with her first adoptive daughter. But then, when the conversation ended, she was hysterical. It said that in the emotions UI. I guess I know now that the playful emotion goes from playful, very playful, hysterical. Then she just starts choking on her spit and laughter and keels over dead. I had the child plead with the reaper to save her but the reaper basically laughed in her face. Poor little thing. she had only been adopted a few hours earlier. She is starting to become good friends with her mom and then, boom! Her mom is dead. I did not expect that at all. I thought it would be a lot harder to kill my sim. But I guess she was just having so much fun with her daughter. The kid would probably be traumatized for life. Of course the mother was not married so the daughter went right back into the system. I never saw her in the adoption tab again.
This is exactly how my first attempt ended. Generation 3 heiress keeled over. Also the founder’s spouse died of exhaustion from woohoo. Attempt #2 starts tomorrow.
Regarding the memorializing, is there actually an option to ‘compose song for Bob’? Or would the song just be composed and we mark it off as ‘for Bob’ on our scorecards? I’ll miss seeing my collection of portraits.
It would just be writing a song for Bob and check him off the list. The same goes for comedy routines… there is not “Roast” option to honor a specific family member, but you can count a written comedy routine as one honoring a family member.
TRUST me, of all the features people have ranted and raved about missing in TS4, portraits were the only one that hit me hard. I miss them too myself, but if they ever get modded in or added in an EP, the challenge is ready to welcome them back with open arms.
I’m ready, I think, to start my practice run. I won’t be keeping score this first time, but as soon as the scores are finalized and I can print out a copy, I’ll be all over that also. 😉
Since you know what you are mostly going after (household worth, extra bottles of youth potions etc) you can start collecting them and then when I determine the point charts, retroactively score yourself based on how much you’ve done thus far.
[…] just keeping a family line alive. You must both survive and thrive! That is where scoring comes in. There is a maximum of 100 points to be earned. There are 10 categories, each with 10 points available in each. There is also a […]

“Collect and store in your family inventory every single consumable aspiration reward.”
I’ve purchased the first potion (Fun) and it won’t let me store it in my family inventory. Only options are to sell and esc (cancel) when in buy/build mode. Has anyone been able to store the potions in family inventory?
If they can’t go into the inventory, then just placing them in a stockpile in the house would work too. If you played Sims 2 Legacies this would be similar to keeping an empty room for the sole purpose of storing Elixer of Life in it.
I’m so confused. I’ve never done a Legacy Challenge and I’m kind of confused how we would document all of this. Who gives us the points? How do we share our families actions?
You give the points to yourself as you play. We don’t have a spreadsheet to document points yet, but we will in the future. The challenge is meant simply to add more interest and depth to the game. You don’t need to be strict about tracking points if you don’t want to.
First I want to thank you Pinstar and all your helpers in all the work that you have put in to creating this challenge and creating the rules. I tried a legacy with Sims 3 and failed, but I don’t think I was in complete understanding of the rules than, and I’m trying to do all my homework now prior to starting a Sims 4 challenge. I do have a question, how does one keep track of the points, is there an excel sheet that we can generate to keep points or another means of doing so?
ok this is first time i have heard of legacy challenge lol i usually play from broke or really rich..lol and i cant kill off fam i play cuz my husband would b hurt.. it is us in game sigh… ne ways my ? is.. we keep score ourselves and live by these rules to win .. just to make more interesting game?
Yep! You don’t have to be super strict with the rules if you don’t want to. They are here just to add more interest to the game. We will be coming out with a scoresheet eventually, though, for those who want to use it.
Before all the rules were up, I had a romance teen sim due to the progression of the game, there were no teens in either of the two towns. Had to put in a teen, so my sim could do the dating part of his challenges. Talk about wild. So if I understand right the sims in the game will be elders or adults, when he becomes a y. a. so how do u handle this when the town out grows itself, and no new blood is out there?
Pinstar, I didn’t see anything about lowering starting funds this time around. Did I miss it or is this no longer part of the rules? There is a code available to adjust or set the family worth if you would like to implement this.
To lower the funds you need to purchase a Knight of the Octagon table and then place it in your inventory. This will do two things, lower the funds, and make the bills pricier to add to the difficulty.
Ok, this is my first time doing a legacy challenge and I’m confused. What do you mean that the outsider/spouse can’t be from any home on the active map? What other alternatives are there and why is this rule in place?
You need to use Sims that are listed as “Not living in the world”. Go to world management, then click on “Unplayed Sims” then several will show up as “Not living in the world” or something like that. Those are the Sims that you can use for spouses. Hope that wasn’t too confusing, I just woke up and my brain isn’t functioning properly xD
The problem with this is, if I meet a person and flirt etc., then I have to check they do not live in the two neighbourhoods/check they are not living in the world, which may be a tedious process.
May I ask why would we have to do this, I mean if they live in the world why does it make a difference (PS. I never go to a neighbour’s house for a visit so maybe that is why?)
ok,so, if i find one who is in house, can i evict the houshold so they have no money and move them in anyway? techinically the money wont be a problem then
I had my first spouse, made sure they were not living in a house.. and… I got 20000 from them, which seems to be too easy? Did i do right thing or did i make it wrong! I’m confused
Not sure if you have said or not, but I am really interested in doing this as my first legacy challenge, and I was wondering if you know when you will have the score chart out. Since it is my first time, I definitely don’t want to start doing this without something for me to look at and check off as I go, too much to try to remember!
Especially since family trees are gone (so sad) this is literally best thing to do. I know I’m not good at keeping scores, so don’t know if I should start my legacy challenge yet or wait for more detailed score, I WANT MAX SCORES, or i could also try again and again.
It’s just a bit difficult to document lots of stuff – like every aspiration complete, I swear I will forget some
There are 2 50 x 50 lots in The Sims 4 that you can use. One in Willow Creek and one in Oasis Springs. You will need to demolish the houses that are currently there. You will also need to evict the family that lives in the one in Oasis Springs.
At athletic the rule says: The 10th point is earned when you have completed all four childhood aspirations and every single adult aspiration at least once by a member of the Legacy Family.
What’s the difference between that and Nature #3? (Complete all 27 aspirations at least once during your entire Legacy Challenge. A single Sim completing more than one unique aspiration during their lifetime may have each aspiration count toward this goal. Only fully completed aspirations count.)
I was wondering if a masterpiece painting could count for creative since they are apparently so rare that the game advises not to sell them. If not what level of book does the book written have to be? I’m assuming a children’s book isn’t going to count.
Once I get my Prima guide (which has been delayed several times) I’ll be able to lay down more specific requirements for many of the scoring categories, creative included.
When you do the revamp (sooner than later please, or my cooking focused sim is going to die before I can get to it), #7 is not possible. After quitting Celebrity Chef, and then joining the cooking career again, it starts you at the highest attainable level that isn’t the highest (put when you go to work, you get promoted back up, in this case back to Celebrity Chef). You can’t choose the other path with the same sim.
Hi! This is my first attempt at a Legacy challenge. Is there anywhere one can find the scoring charts for the Fortune, Knowledge, and Popularity categories? Or is there one scorecard for everything? I think the comprehensive scorecard would be awesome.
Hi
I have to ask another question regarding the points.
“Memorialize” can be one of the following: Compose a song for that person, create and refine a stand-up comedy routine to perfect quality in their honor, write (but don’t publish) a book for the person
Is it a specific genre of book we have to write about the other person. Or is the genre not mattering as long as the book is written specially for the person?
Hi. This is my first time to join a legacy and reading these challenge scoring..Wow, that’s a lot! 🙂
I’m kind of excited so but I have few questions… What do you mean by scores? Will someone really check out all these requirements to score the family or are we supposed to tick every goal and score ourselves? If it’s the second option, do we have to post or blog etc. the events (goals) to make it really count?
The challenge is self-scored and all on the honor system. There is no leader board. Honestly, some people ignore the points and just play the challenge for the story creates. The points are mostly there to give people who might find the game and the goals that are built in a bit too easy. In the near future we are coming out with a score card you can use to track your points, but for the time being, a notepad is fine.
I dont quite understand this and I couldnt go thru every comment to see if this was asked. so if it was I am very sorry…
“The Family point category is the most simple of all. You gain 1 point per generation to have an eligible heir reach young adulthood. Your founder is the first generation, so you start the challenge off with 1 point in this category automatically. Since the challenge ends with the birth of the 10th generation heir, the 10th point in Family is obtained by having and/or adopting 10 children in a single generation.”
is this saying 1 person in has to have a total of 10 children… or does it have to be the heir? can you explain this a little more for me maybe with an example?
The idea is that one heir has to have and/or adopt 10 children in a single generation to earn the point. Since there is an 8 sim limit on the house, this will require that you move some of the older children out to make room for the younger ones. Keep in mind that once moved out, a sim cannot move back in and you cannot move out the child who currently holds the title of ‘heir’ to the next generation.
It is a hectic challenge that is as difficult as it is memorable, and a call back to where it originally appeared: The Sims 2 as a random want that family sims might have.
When I finish my scoring point tables, I will have a formal score sheet made to go with it. That is my current priority to bring the challenge up to version 1.00
Craaaaaazy. But in a good way. 😀 Having discovered this, I plan on doing it twice: unscored (easy mode trial run, as I’ve never really played multi-gen), and scored later on. I’m a completionist at heart, and trying to do the scored version before the rules are finalized and some of the challenge-breaking bugs are patched would drive me absolutely nuts.
Thanks so much for all the work you guys have put into this! It’s a whole new level of Simming. 🙂
High level programming can create a Mobile App or a Video Game that lets you name it. I thought that was still appropriate for the memorializing of family members since you have to get to a high level of programming to do so and they take about as long as writing a song.
Just thought I would suggest it as a possible option.
Hi, I just wanted to know whether there is a possible way to be notified when the scorecard arrives. I’ve been playing the Sims for years but never come across the legacy challenges and it’s a bit much to remember! 🙂 Thanks
I don’t know if you have already discovered it but it appears that one sim can’t reach the top of two career branches (food, #7)
And as the line in #3 nature and the 10th point in athletic overlapes each other, could you replace in one of categories the line about completing all aspirations with something else? Like with giving one sim 12 traits (as in the achievement the most interesting sim) or more intresting thing?
I was thinking of incorporating the Most Interesting Sim into the scoring. I didn’t know about that achievement when I first wrote the rules as I didn’t have the prima guide
To clarify, for the memorializing thing do you have to do a song, painting, AND comedy routine? Or is it supposed to be “or”? I’m hoping for “or” haha. Also, does someone else have to memorialize a sim? Like, can my sim memorialize himself?
Thanks 🙂 Sounds like this is going to be a cool challenge
In the creative scoring section, it says we are to write a song, compose a long comedy routine and perform it at a party AND create a high skill realist painting. It also mentions biography.
To begin, is the AND accurate? We are to do all 3 for every single sim in every generation before their death? This makes it extremely difficult especially at generation 1 if this is the case.
Second, their is mention of biography. If we are supposed to do all 3 of the previous mentioned ways to memorialize, would the biography option replace just one of these or replace all 3?
Third, we are to write a song FOR A SIM, compose a long comedy routine FOR A SIM. Is the FOR A SIM an option in the game, or would we be simply stating that this is for that sim?
“In order to properly memorialize someone you must do the following. Write a Song for a Sim, Paint a High Skill Realist painting for a sim , OR compose and perform a Long Comedy Routine. You can also write a Biography for a Sim ”
I removed all the level requirements to make it an easier read. Basically, you can Write a song, paint a picture, perform a long comedy routine , OR write a biography. You only need to choose one. As far as I am aware, there is no “For a Sim” feature. You just need to create it and sing/perform/or display the item in question.
Just a quick question. We are not supposed to use our career rewards are we? i mean if we want them in the house we need to buy extras, and keep the original in the inventory? Cus ive been reading a bunch of legacy stories and it seems like a lot of ppl are using them, so i just wondered if i misunderstood something?
Great work btw 🙂
As i understand the rules, there is no specific restriction on using them. There is even an option to sell them when you get the first one for free, But the point is that at the end of the game your family must own one of each, so if you’ve sold them in the early game to get the money, you need to purchase them again.
Whether they are in the house or stored in the inventory is indifferent, as I see. But Pinstar will correct me if I’m wrong.
One quick question regarding the 10th point in the “knowledge” category. Does this mean ONE specific sim needs to max out all skills? If so, does that include the childhood skills as well? Or, does it mean that each skill needs to be maxed out by someone (not one sim, but many) in the family?
I think a very good idea would be a score sheet in PDF form. This sounds fun but there are so many rules that it will be easy to forget some of them. A score sheet that’s handy might make it easier to keep track of one’s score.
Question about trait scoring – So a sim can only be counted as 1 if they have 3 completely unique traits from anyone else? All 3 of their traits must be unique from any other sim in the legacy? For instance, Sim A has Art Lover, Creative, Perfectionist so he counts as 1. Sim B has Genius, Good, Perfectionist. So does Sim B not count at all because they have one trait that is not unique? That seems to be the way its worded.
If you are talking about the love category, if you want maximum points you need to have each spouse have three unique traits. However, if you have some duplication, you can still use some of the 2nd spouse’s traits to your goal. Genius and Good on the 2nd spouse would still count as unique traits, so after 2 spouses, you’d have 5 unique traits. You’ll never get max points with that, but you can get max -1
In the LOVE category we can count unique traits for our spouses. Can you please clarify the following:
Does the spouse count if they were NOT used to bring in the next heir?
Strict Matriarchy, Strict Traditional, First Born
Current Female Heir child with Partner 1
Female 1 (next Heir)
Current Female Heir marries and has with Spouse 1
Female 2 (spare Heir)
Boy 1
This of course can get complicated here
Spouse dies, Current Female remarries Spouse 2 (2 spouses 1 gen)
Female 3 (spare Heir)
So for scoring would Partner 1 traits count for LOVE? – I am guessing no, not spouse
Would Spouse 1 or 2 count? Would both count? Is it a choice?
OR
Would Spouse traits only count if they spawn heir for next gen?
Example: Female 1 dies before spawning heir so Female 2 is heir (and does spawn gen) so Spouse 1 counts unique traits?
The first spouse who you bring in for a given generation is that generation’s spouse for the purposes the Love category, regardless if they contribute to the production of the 2nd generation. Secondary spouses and spouses to spares don’t count for the Love category
Created an Excel Spreadsheet to keep track of the entire legacy!
Includes easy to use scoring tab.
Will score each section as defined by the rules. In the categories where the scoring is yet to be determined I used placeholder values to be updated as the rules come out.
Pinstar, absolutely amazing challenge laid out here. If interested, please feel free to download, modify, distribute my sheet in anyway you’d like. I wanted to create an easy way for me to keep track of everything and figured I should share it!
Hey!
Amazing job on the sheet, it will help out no end! But I might be being thick, but your drop down boxes don’t seem to work?
I was going to attempt to fix it on my own version but thought I’d drop you a note about it as I expect a lot of people will be looking for something like this 😀
Hello Becca,
Thanks for the excel, it’s really helpful !
I would suggest to add the fitness skill, I couldn’t find it in your tracking sheet.
Thanks again !
My Celebrity Chef sim is unable to enter to Mixology branch and is stuck with the Mixology aspiration he can’t complete. I was able to go as low as Head Caterer by accepting a lower level job on the computer and quiting it but can’t get below Head Caterer (level 6) that way. Are they supposed to get demoted to level 5 so that they can change branch? Can I change aspiration if I can’t get him demoted? He’s still adult.
Can I sell or use career reward objects if I want to get points for this collection? The rules say all career reward objects must be family in inventory, while the Top 10 Tips say that it is helpful to sell them in the beginning of the challenge.
For this bit: “The 10th point is obtained by having every single skill reach level 10 by somebody in the family.” — Does that mean that over the whole legacy, every skill is maxed at least once, or you have one individual Sim max all skills?
Questions about the creative category. When memoralizing a sim; Can a sim paint a portrait of themselves? Also, is there an actual way to memorialize? Or do you just go with what they paint? Because my sim painted a Classic that is creepily like her sister that I have never seen painted before in any of the games I’ve played thus far. So far I’ve just been naming pictures after specific sims to memorialize them.
When writing songs, can you keep the song somehow? I’ve written 4 and have no proof. The only time I saw it what’s when the sim was still working on it. I could click on the mail box to get money for a few days but other than that I have no way of knowing I wrote songs for sims.
Sims may not memorialize themsleves. They can memorialize any number of others, but not themselves. Sadly, there are no actual portraits in the game (yet) so you can’t tell a painter to paint a picture of another sim specifically. (Trust me, you have no idea how much I want to see this return). So any high skill realism painting would suffice (Skill 8+)
For songs, you should have the option to play them on your sims’s instrument of choice.
When scoring in the creative section, do we write down the name of the person the song was created for or the creator? And with Love do we get a point if we write down our spouses traits?
Sorry this is my first legacy challenge.
Also under which score section do we put career rewards? I read the rules but i didn’t see somewhere for this so i accidentally sold my career rewards? How are they scored??
Career rewards don’t count for points. You earn points by reaching the top of the career tracks.
And you can write traits down if you wish to help keep track of everything, but it’s not required. You don’t really need to write down the names of the person for the song either, you can just note that a song was created. You don’t need to be specific. I mean you can if you want to, but it doesn’t really affect the challenge either way.
[…] just keeping a family line alive. You must both survive and thrive! That is where scoring comes in. There is a maximum of 100 points to be earned. There are 10 categories, each with 10 points available in each. There is also a 'penalty' […]

Okay, this is outrageously well put-together and comprehensive. I love it. So many little boxes and goals to complete and check off 🙂 🙂 🙂 Thanks again, guys.
Thank you for your kind words!
The delay of the release of the Prima Guide has left a few of the categories in beta form, but that will be updated when I get the guide. I agree with your assessment that my TS3 version of the Legacy Challenge were my weakest effort of the three. I’m glad other forums are getting into the Legacy Craze!

Thank you. The rocket crash is going to be lumped in with the fire death, since both are death by fire.
There are deaths by emotions as well.
Yes there is. I’ll have a full list of them when the prima guide arrives, but those new deaths are going to be included.
Such drama!
Yeah, death by embarrassment is one of the new deaths. Good luck with attempt #2!
Oh no! 🙁
This is exactly how my first attempt ended. Generation 3 heiress keeled over. Also the founder’s spouse died of exhaustion from woohoo. Attempt #2 starts tomorrow.
Pinstar, I can’t see where it can be improved.
Hear, hear!
This is great! I was waiting to start my legacy for the rules now I can get going! Thank you!

You can store them in the fridge. Or you can have them in a sims inventory, and when that person dies, they get moved to family inventory 🙂
At the moment we don’t have an excel sheet, but we are working on one!
ok this is first time i have heard of legacy challenge lol i usually play from broke or really rich..lol and i cant kill off fam i play cuz my husband would b hurt.. it is us in game sigh… ne ways my ? is.. we keep score ourselves and live by these rules to win .. just to make more interesting game?
The game should replenish itself with new random townies after its current stock ages and dies.
Sims that live in houses can bring in more than $20,000, so it would make things too easy.
ok,so, if i find one who is in house, can i evict the houshold so they have no money and move them in anyway? techinically the money wont be a problem then
I had my first spouse, made sure they were not living in a house.. and… I got 20000 from them, which seems to be too easy? Did i do right thing or did i make it wrong! I’m confused
Not sure if you have said or not, but I am really interested in doing this as my first legacy challenge, and I was wondering if you know when you will have the score chart out. Since it is my first time, I definitely don’t want to start doing this without something for me to look at and check off as I go, too much to try to remember!
Not sure yet. Hopefully soon!
Never heard of legacy challenges… until now!
Especially since family trees are gone (so sad) this is literally best thing to do. I know I’m not good at keeping scores, so don’t know if I should start my legacy challenge yet or wait for more detailed score, I WANT MAX SCORES, or i could also try again and again.
It’s just a bit difficult to document lots of stuff – like every aspiration complete, I swear I will forget some
Glad you found it! We are working on a score sheet now 🙂
Which lot must we buy for the sims 4 legacy challenge?
Hi Pinstar, regarding the points for Popularity, you write:
“You may also earn one popularity point by having a single Sim getting a gold medal in each of the 4 types of parties AND a gold medal on a date”
There are 6 types of parties though 🙂
Aha, we’ll fix that, thank you 🙂
6? I think I might have missed something. How do I find them all?
When you have all the points set up, I would kill to have a “scorecard” to keep track of everything!
Me too! I keep checking back every day.

Food #9 — max meal OR max drink? Is this a typo, is it supposed to be “and”?
The food section is getting a revamp soon, thank you for pointing this out.
Thanks!
At the moment, no, but Pinstar is working on it!
Sorry, kinda new here 😀
The challenge is self-scored and all on the honor system. There is no leader board. Honestly, some people ignore the points and just play the challenge for the story creates. The points are mostly there to give people who might find the game and the goals that are built in a bit too easy. In the near future we are coming out with a score card you can use to track your points, but for the time being, a notepad is fine.
Hope this helps and enjoy the challenge!
Is there a score card or anything to keep track of points?! Or do we make our own?! I have never done this before but I am up for the challange!
Never mind I just saw the above question 🙂
Awesome thank you for explaining that
I love this and it’s so well put together. I know it will take a while but do you have a rough idea of when you will have a score sheet avaliable?
[…] -/10 (See Pinstar’s scoring page for […]
Hi, I just wanted to know whether there is a possible way to be notified when the scorecard arrives. I’ve been playing the Sims for years but never come across the legacy challenges and it’s a bit much to remember! 🙂 Thanks
We’ll announce on the site once we get a scoresheet up.
Am I reading something wrong or are the Nature #3 and the Athletic bonus point the exact same?
Thanks in advance for your replys,
Xionsim
It actually says :
“In order to properly memorialize someone you must do the following. Write a Song for a Sim, Paint a High Skill Realist painting for a sim , OR compose and perform a Long Comedy Routine. You can also write a Biography for a Sim ”
I removed all the level requirements to make it an easier read. Basically, you can Write a song, paint a picture, perform a long comedy routine , OR write a biography. You only need to choose one. As far as I am aware, there is no “For a Sim” feature. You just need to create it and sing/perform/or display the item in question.
I hope this helps,
Tealeanna
Ah, yes,, the AND was fixed to OR. The For a sim response does help too. Thanks for the response.
Well that makes things so much easier. Guess my familys house is getting an upgrade now then 🙂
Ah I can’t wait to start playing this 😀 !
p.s. I made a chart thingy that can help keep track of the family’s progress I uploaded it here:
http://www.mediafire.com/view/2r48ue6qcrd9l5i/Scoring.doc
in case someone else might use it, I hope you don’t mind ^^
You, kind person, are absolutely AWESOME! Thanks for this 🙂
One quick question regarding the 10th point in the “knowledge” category. Does this mean ONE specific sim needs to max out all skills? If so, does that include the childhood skills as well? Or, does it mean that each skill needs to be maxed out by someone (not one sim, but many) in the family?
Just a quick question – can we use skill cheats?
Sorry no. No cheats except some build mode cheats are allowed.
Do childhood skills reaching 10 count in Knowledge scoring, or only adult ones?
Yes they do!
Coolness! I think I’ll have to get used to the squeaks of that child violin 🙂
I think a very good idea would be a score sheet in PDF form. This sounds fun but there are so many rules that it will be easy to forget some of them. A score sheet that’s handy might make it easier to keep track of one’s score.
A score sheet is in the works 🙂
Can’t wait for the score sheet! This will help me keep better track of what I need to do.
I’m not sure if this is posted somewhere or not; can you use the reward points or that considered cheating?
You can use them, absolutely.
That definitely adds a great deal of complexity to it. I swear you must’ve taken ages to write these rules down.
Thanks for this challenge, Pinstar! It rocks and I’m having more fun now than I’ve ever had playing any Sims game! 🙂
Wonderful thank you!

This has really helped me, thanks!
Hey!
Amazing job on the sheet, it will help out no end! But I might be being thick, but your drop down boxes don’t seem to work?
I was going to attempt to fix it on my own version but thought I’d drop you a note about it as I expect a lot of people will be looking for something like this 😀
Drop down boxes for what? The random trait generator?
Hmm I may need to revisit that trait requirement and alter it a bit. Thank you for pointing this out.
Can I sell or use career reward objects if I want to get points for this collection? The rules say all career reward objects must be family in inventory, while the Top 10 Tips say that it is helpful to sell them in the beginning of the challenge.
You may sell them and then re-buy them later.
Will there be a chart to help score the legacy challenge?
Thanks
I’m working on it this week. It should be up by the end of the week! I hope.
For this bit: “The 10th point is obtained by having every single skill reach level 10 by somebody in the family.” — Does that mean that over the whole legacy, every skill is maxed at least once, or you have one individual Sim max all skills?
Across the whole legacy. You don’t need to have a single sim max every skill.
Awesome thank you!
Do the paintings have to be realism? Or can it be classic as long as it’s a person?
Realism is ideal, but honestly anything that requires 8+ skill is fine.
Has a scorecard for keeping track of scores been released yet. Not sure how to accurately keep track of everything.
Not yet, but hopefully by the end of the week or early next week!
Thanks!
Wow! I’m about to start my legacy and was wishing for something like this, and then here it is! Thank you!
I just saw this one here. Looks awesome!

HELP
Career rewards don’t count for points. You earn points by reaching the top of the career tracks.
And you can write traits down if you wish to help keep track of everything, but it’s not required. You don’t really need to write down the names of the person for the song either, you can just note that a song was created. You don’t need to be specific. I mean you can if you want to, but it doesn’t really affect the challenge either way.
