Sims 4 Career Top 3 Charts

business careerWith the introduction of two new Sims 4 careers and the rebalancing of the existing ones. I took some time to do some deep analysis of the new career landscape. Many of the nitty gritty details of the careers can be found on the Career guide I wrote for SimsVIP right here.

However, while I was writing up the guide for the trees, I began to notice some things. If you take a step back and look at all the careers, side by side, you start to see patterns. It was from this further analysis that I present to you my guide to the Sims 4 Top 3 Charts! I will give you the top three career/branches for each category. Some of the choices are based purely on hard data, others have some subjective components to them. Without any further ado. Here are the Sims 4 Career Top 3 Charts! Note that all of these rankings are based on reaching the top level in that given career/branch.

Careers With the Biggest Weekly Earnings

1. Business – Management ($15,000 a week)
2. Astronaut – Interstellar Smuggler ($14,868 a week)
3. Business – Investor ($12,992 a week)

It is easy to see the hourly rate of pay and think that you’ve found the best paying job ever, but it is easy to miss the fact that as you go higher and higher in job rank, many jobs ‘reward’ you by pairing back the number of hours and days you work, so that sky-high hourly rate might not actually be paying you as much as you think. The biggest paying jobs are ones that combine a high rate of pay at the top level with a still healthy number of hours worked per week. As you can see, the new Business career comes out on top in that race.

Careers With the Biggest Hourly Rate

1. Tech Guru – Start Up Entrepreneur ($516/hour)
2. Secret Agent – Villain ($515/hour)
3. Athletic – Body Builder ($500/hour)

Do you value your Sim’s time? These careers do! While none of these three are the top paying on a weekly basis, these will give you a very healthy paycheck for the amount of time that IS put into them. If you want a sim to get rich AND still have plenty of time to enjoy themselves, look into these careers.

Careers With the Fewest Weekly Working Hours

1. Painter – Master of the Real (10 hours per week)
2. Writer – Author (12 hours per week)
3. Tech Guru – Start Up Entrepreneur (15 hours per week)

Is your Sim a lazy bum? Or simply has better things to do than work? If you aren’t quite ready to have an unemployed sim, these three careers, at their top levels, give you all the free time in the world. The Painter and Writer careers are deliberate as both count on books/paintings to be supplemental income that you’ll need free time to create.

Top 3 Easiest Careers

1. Tech Guru – eSport Gamer
2. Culinary – Chef
3. Painter – Master of the Real

These careers have daily tasks that meld seamlessly into actions you’ll be doing to build required skills anyway and who have reward objects that support the best mood to be in when skilling up. eSport Gamer needs focus for both its skills, has you practicing both skills from day 1 and showers you with focus objects. Culinary has plenty of inspiration objects both of which help out cooking and gourmet cooking…both of which also satisfy the daily task and painter can build their logic skill with mathematical diagrams and also make whatever mood room they need with emotional paintings.

Top 3 Most Difficult Careers

1. Writing – Journalist
2. Culinary – Mixologist
3. Business – Investor

If you are looking for a challenge or just want to know what to avoid, these three career branches are the most difficult. Writing’s ‘write articles’ daily task requires that you first obtain a story before being able to START the daily task. The Charisma requirement takes you out of your comfort zone with both writer and culinary, as it doesn’t synergize with any of their reward objects. Lastly the ‘research stocks daily task for business takes just as much time per day as ‘fill out reports’ did earlier in the business career, meaning the whole career has you stuck with a very long daily task that doesn’t build skill.

Top 3 Best Career Reward Objects

1. Painter – Patron of the Arts
2. Culinary – Chef
3. Tech Guru – eSport Gamer

An easel that makes superior paintings, a plethora of inspiring objects, and the best bed in the game puts Patron of the Arts on top in this category. The top level of the chef branch will give you enough high quality, inspiring and flat-out useful objects to build a kitchen of your dreams. Lastly the eSport Gamer branch gives you plenty of focusing aura objects to play with, ending with the best computer in the game along with the gaming mat, which is its own unique form of awesome.

You might personally have another career in the game that works better for you! Let me know in the comments what YOUR favorite career and branch is and why!

[…] With a new baby on the way, Graham really needs to get working on that promotion. Especially now that it’s so much harder to get a promotion in a job. […]

How did you come to $15.000 a week for Business – Management?
Hourly rate at level 10 is $375 (x 8 hour day = $3000 a day). Making a total of $12.000 a week (working 4 days a week at lvl 10).

I personally like the Dr. Career, right now I am making $720 an hour, $9,455 a day.
