Eat Like a Sim’s Month of Cookies – Sims 2 Santa Cookies (with an Announcement!)

If you’ve played The Sims series for as long as I have, then you probably remember the Sims 2 Santa Cookies recipe. This recipe was available through the Sims 2 Holiday Stuff Pack, and if you were lucky enough to receive the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection for free from Origin, then you already have this recipe available. If your Sims made these cookies and then went to bed, Santa would appear to bring them gifts (and also pee in their toilet several times).

It was always fun to decorate my Sims 2 Legacy family’s house for Christmas, bake the Santa Cookies, and then eagerly await the arrival of Santa in the middle of the night. Sure there was a chance the Christmas tree would catch on fire, but hey, the anticipation was worth it!

There wasn’t an official in-game recipe for these Santa Cookies, so I had to use my imagination when coming up with them. My recipe is a simple sugar cookie recipe that uses store bought frosting. So go ahead and make them, and see if Santa will come visit you as well! Hopefully he won’t spend his entire time in the bathroom! Check out the comparison shot below (I couldn’t find cookie cutters in the exact shape of the Santa shaped cookie seen in the game).

Sims 2 Santa Cookies

Sims 2 Holiday Cookies from the Holiday Stuff Pack made in real life.

  • 1 Cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 Cup white sugar
  • 1.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 3 Cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 to 3 Tbsp milk (as needed if the dough is crumbly)
  • holiday cookie cutters
  • 2 tubs holiday colored frosting (or two tubs white frosting with red or green food coloring)
  • 1 package holiday sprinkles
  • parchment paper (to line the baking sheets)
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F

  2. Cream the softened butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light yellow and fluffy

  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until well combined

  4. In a separate bowl combine the flour, baking powder, and salt and whisk until well mixed

  5. Add the flour mixture to the wet mixture 1/3 at a time, mix between additions, and repeat this process until the dough forms a ball. You may need to add between 1 and 3 tablespoons of milk if the mixture is too crumbly.

  6. Roll the dough on a well floured surface and cut with holiday cookie cutters.

  7. Place the cut cookies about an inch apart on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper

  8. Bake for 10 to 13 minutes until golden brown

  9. Allow cookies to cool completely before frosting.

  10. If you bought white frosting only, add several drops of red food coloring to about 1/3 of it and green food coloring to another 1/3, leave the final 1/3 white. Add as many drops of food coloring as you need to reach the color you’d like.

The Sims 2 was, and still is, my favorite game in The Sims franchise. It was the first in the series to add genetics to the game as well as several different recipes that your Sims could make. The official website for the site is now closed, but you can still chat about the game in The Sims Official Message Boards.

Enjoy!

Wow, you are super ambitious. O_o All the Let’s Plays, Livestreams and games you play, a full-time family and even more websites?! Whew! I wish you all the luck though, and I can’t wait to see the new foodie website. I love seeing this type of thing, one of my favorite youtube channels is Nerdy Nummies, where she does something very similar (recreate specific video game food and themed foods. Good luck!!

Haha well, I’m actually going to be drastically dropping the number of Let’s Plays that I do each week to make time for this. I’m considering changing my Simself’s traits to have the ambitious trait though xD

Thanks! 😀
