Good morning! I am going live again on my Twitch channel this morning to playtest more Legacy Challenge rules for the more recently added packs. This time I’ll be using my main Legacy family from my Youtube Let’s Play. So if you’ve been following them on Youtube, you’ll be all caught up!

If you’ve been around for a while, you may have heard me mention that Pinstar and I have been wanting to make a “Lite” version of the Legacy Challenge for people that want to get to 10 Generations with no cheats, but not have to worry about keeping score.

We finally had a chance to write something up and the Legacy Challenge Lite is now available for you to use in your own games. The best part about this is, if you already have a Legacy Challenge going you can easily switch over to the Lite version from the original version without needing to restart.

The rules for The Legacy Challenge Lite can be found here. It’s still very similar to the original Legacy Challenge, but some rules have been altered and scoring has been removed completely.

Hi everyone. I just wanted to apologize for the last 36 hours. The site was down for much of that time and that was unacceptable. We ran into an issue with the security certificate for the site (something that has happened before that is out of our control and caused entirely by the security program that our website host uses). In order to prevent that from happening again we had to upgrade a bunch of stuff which caused the site to have additional downtime while all of the upgrades/changes took place.

The site should be stable now (or will be soon) and HOPEFULLY this extended downtime won’t happen again. I had not planned for this downtime to happen, so it was pretty stressful here for the last day and a half. Especially since so much of it was out of my control.

I am really sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused. Especially on a Sunday when I know a lot of people are playing The Sims.

In the future if the site is ever down, be sure to keep an eye on either the official Legacy Challenge Twitter or my personal Twitter as that is where I will post the majority of updates. But hopefully that won’t be the case for the foreseeable future.

Just posting a quick update to let you know that the random trait generators (all of them) should now be working and functioning as normal! I am so sorry for the downtime of both the website and the generators. It’s been very stressful over here trying to figure out what was wrong with them. Thank you for your patience!

Hi everyone! I wanted to apologize for the website being down earlier. I’m not really sure what happened. It seems to be working fine now, however the Random Trait Generator is still not working. I have contacted the generator’s developer and I will keep you posted to let you know when it gets fixed! Sorry about this!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to let you know that the next two weeks are going to be VERY busy for me and my family. We’ve got to start getting our kids ready for school (one of which is starting Kindergarten), have some friends visiting, and we are also going to be travelling next week (which means lots of packing and getting things ready). With this in mind, I find it unlikely that I’ll have much time to get much done in the way of website posts. So I am going to put all posts on hiatus until early September.

Once September starts I will be able to focus more on the website and I am planning posts at least 4 times a week.

Hey everyone, just a heads up that I may have input some of the traits incorrectly yesterday when I updated the Random Trait Generator. Some traits are currently missing. I am getting that fixed right now and they will be on the generator ASAP.

Sorry about that! I don’t know how that happened!

UPDATE: I fixed the traits that I put into the list incorrectly, but I noticed another problem, that I didn’t see yesterday. Trait 1 and Trait 2 on the Parent’s Traits only show Child and Teen traits respectively. I don’t know how to fix this so I need to run it by the plugin’s creator. Hopefully he has a fix for it. Sorry guys. I didn’t realize the issue yesterday. Hopefully it will be fixed ASAP.

Hi everyone, this is just a quick post to let you know that we are aware that the Toddler Random Trait Generator is having issues again. What I thought was a caching issue, is actually an issue with the plugin itself. I am going to be looking into alternative plugins to use, but that may take some time to sort out, especially since we have houseguests right now.

I will keep you guys posted. In the meantime, if you are having issues with it generating a new trait and refreshing isn’t working, commenting on the post seems to get it working again. So you can do that until we get a fix for this.
